Feast of Tabernacles in northern California, near Mount Shasta

Please come join us for the Feast of Tabernacles at Lake Siskiyou, in northern California, near Mount Shasta.

This year we will be reading and studying in the Book of Revelation, and what it means for the end times. I will present on what little I think I might maybe know, and then we will have a collaborative learning experience, where we try to bring the scriptures from the Tanach (or the Old Testament) into the Revelation timeline. If you want, you might think of it like a big puzzle. We will try to solve this puzzle together, as a collaborative learning experience.

We will also open each morning with learning to sing some traditional Hebrew praise and worship songs. Then in the afternoon we will read and study together, either in Hebrew or English, depending on your skill level. You don’t need any experience to come join us, and those who have experience, please come ready to help those who are new to our Father’s language.

Lake Siskiyou is a beautiful and tranquil location. You can choose from cabins, tent sites, or you can bring your RV. We ask that you please go ahead and register directly with the campground, and then RSVP to us with an email, servant@nazareneisrael.org, so we know to expect you.

We will prepare several joint meals together, like it was in the wilderness. “Kosher” food is not required per se, but all food does need to be in keeping with the “clean food laws” of Leviticus 11. Basically, please try to avoid pork, shellfish, shark, catfish, and gelatin. If you have a question about what might or might not be clean, please write to us, servant@nazareneisrael.org. We do not require organic food, but please lean towards healthy, nutritious food, to honor the fact that our bodies presently serve as a temple for His Spirit.

There are many opportunities for worship and fellowship this fall festival season. At our gathering, we are praying for those who want to get together to read and study His word in humility and in modesty, in order to serve Him better. If you have any questions, please send us an email, and we hope to see you there.

For a time schedule, or for more details, please check the .pdf documents in the upper right hand corner of this page.

Disclaimer: Why We Use the Karaites' Raw Data

Some have asked why we would use the Karaite Jews' Aviv barley and new moon sightings when Karaites do not believe in Yeshua.  Many messianics have lost their faith in Yeshua and have converted to Karaism in recent years, and we understand that this is problematic.  However, Scripture calls for establishing the calendar by the first crescent sliver of the new moon and the Aviv barley in the Land of Israel, and the Karaites are the ones YHWH presently has researching this data in the Land of Israel.  Even though the Karaites acknowledge that they do not always use the raw data in accordance with the Scriptural method, since the Karaites are the ones gathering the raw data, basically we have no choice but to get our information from them.

The Karaites openly acknowledge that they use a different method for determining the head of the month than was used in King David's time.  For this reason, sometimes their advance-predictions are sometimes a day off.  However, whenever their predictions differ from the actual sighting (or what they call "raw data") we will make an announcement on the Nazarene Israel Newsgroup (which you can sign up for on the bottom of the home page).

We like the Karaites, and they are nice people.  The lure of life in the Land of Israel is also very appealing, but it is not worth trading your salvation for.  When it is YHWH's time, then He will call us all back home.  Until then we just need to wait on Him.  Please let me know if that is not clear, servant@nazareneisrael.org.
